Rachel Templer, Ph.D.
Do you need an editor?
Perhaps some of these sound like you:
-
You enjoy the research process, but writing it up feels like torture.
-
You want to speed up your publication rate and need help with formatting for submission.
-
Your first language isn't English and your want your ideas, not your language, to get the attention.
-
You're a non-linear thinker and you need judgment-free feedback to find the core of your work.
My editing clients have come to me with these concerns and more. My aim is to help you tackle whatever part of your work makes you feel like you can't make progress. In an over-demanding career like academia, it's easy to let those feelings rule your life. I offer non-judgmental feedback that stays between us, because I want you to feel confident about the work you're putting into the world. Get it off your mind and onto your CV!

Books.

Developmental Editing
Find the thread of your work.
Fresh eyes and constructive feedback can make your writing process more efficient. I can help you with your work's structure, identify what's essential, and improve the clarity and coherence of your work. Creative, but non-linear, thinkers can especially benefit from developmental editing.
Copyediting
Put your work out there in its best form.
Copyediting is more than fixing your commas. It can speed your path to submission by taking a lot of tedious work off your plate. I can help your writing flow more naturally, eliminate grammatical and other errors, and format references and bibliographies.
This service is particularly helpful for scholars whose first language is not English.
